Monogram 2022

Is the monogram feature not working anymore? It offers the monogram toggle and the edit monogram but it doesn’t give me the option to actually edit anything.

Ok. PLEASE do not reply to your own response this way.

I was having the same issue and googling got me here. It was refreshing to see someone else having the same issue but frustrating to see them post “solved it!” then go away without revealing what they did.

For anyone having the same issue, the Monogram feature was moved at some point. Early versions of WatchOS did have Edit Monogram on the Color face. However now the monogram is used in many other faces and Apple moved it to a more global area. To make things even more annoying, the “Edit Monogram” in the Color face is still there, but is bugged. It doesn’t work. Touching it does nothing.

To really edit it, from the main screen on your Watch app on your iOS device, scroll down to all the settings. In the third section, there is a setting called Clock. You can edit it the monogram in this setting.

Alternatively, you can search for “monogram” in the search bar at the top.

On the watch itself, go to Settings -> Clock (again, 3rd section of settings). At least on the watch, there is no Edit Monogram setting to mislead you.

Hi jannie130,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're unable to edit or use the monogram complication on your Apple Watch face.

Does this happen on all Apple Watch faces that offer a monogram complication or only this particular face? Check out Apple Watch faces and their features to see where monogram is an option.

If this continues, try unpairing your Apple Watch from your iPhone, then pairing it again. Guidance for this process can be found in Unpair and erase your Apple Watch.

Take care.
