App prices on my iPhone 8
Most of the time I have no clue what an app costs.
so I pass it by,
how do know for sure?

If the button says "Get" the download is for free, and you can use the features of the app to a certain degree. In some cases you might have to pay for extra options, called In-App-Purchases.
Apps without In-App-Purchases show the price on the download button.
