iPhone keeps on asking to turn on bluetooth

I have headphone apps on my phone, and I keep on getting a popup that says “Turn on Bluetooth to Allow “App Name” to Connect to Accessories”. Is this normal? (Please see screenshot)

Hi AnnieL2,

That was what I had initially suspected, too, but it didn’t use to happen until recently; the apps had been installed for a year without any of these pop-ups. I tried revoking the apps’ access to Bluetooth, but the pop-ups still came up.

Anyway, I’ve just upgraded my firmware to 15.3.1, and the pop-ups seem to have stopped. They usually came up as soon as I unlocked my phone in the morning.

In any case, thank you for your help!

Salutations Seeruhduh,

We understand you’re seeing a prompt asking you to allow apps to connect with Bluetooth accessories.

Are you seeing this prompt come up only when in this specific app? You mentioned having headphone apps on your device. Is this different than having Bluetooth or wired headphones connected to your device?

Thank you.

Hi AnnieL2!

To clarify, by headphones apps I mean apps that are used to change headphones / earphones settings like the Samsung Galaxy Buds app, Sony’s Headphones app, and Huawei’s AI Life app.

That said, prompts like the one in the screenshot just pop up even when I’m not in any of these apps and even after I have revoked these apps’ permission to use Bluetooth as shown in the attached screenshot in this post.

I’m using an iPhone 11, running iOS 15.2.1.
