After apple help insisted that it was the software in my care and in no relation to the iOS update the most recent 15.4 solved the problem. Siri is back and talking to me in my car.

Hi there yellowrose3502,

We certainly want to help get all of those features working right while using Bluetooth in your car. Let's start with some basics:

  1. You mentioned that you recently updated to iOS 15.3.1, but were there any updates available for the Bluetooth accessory(aux receiver) you use in your car? What about checking for compatibility with the manufacturer of the aux receiver? These are two questions that may need to be answered by the manufacturer directly.
  2. Have you tested for the same issue by pairing a different Bluetooth accessory with your iPhone?
  3. Any issues using Siri and receiving phone calls when not using Bluetooth?

Cheers!
