Imovie for Mac OS Yosemite
I've got an old Mac. Imovie last version doesn't work with my operative system. Which version of Imovie must I utilize? And where can I find it? Thanks
Apple Intelligence is now available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac!

OK
On your old Mac sign into the App Store with the Apple ID that you use for your new Mac.
Click on the Purchased Tag at the top of the screen.
Your Purchased page should now be visible and you should see iMovie listed on this page with something like download or install next to it. Click on this .
You will probably get a pop up message saying that the current version is not available but will offer you a version that is compatible with your current OS, so accept this.
Let us know how this goes and get back here if you need more assistance or have more questions.

I assume that your Apple ID works in the App Store on your new Mac?
Anyway, if your version of iMovie from the DVD disc is version 8 then you can update it to version
8.0.6 from this link
In my new iMac I'm using iMovie 10.3.1
I've given my old iMac OS Yosemite (2009) to my sister. iMovie disappeared in that computer and I can't find a proper version. I can't remember which was the old old version of iMovie in that computer. But one was in it because I used it...
thank's
That is strange that you cannot sign in to The App Store with your Apple ID.
As far as I am aware you should be able to sign in to any Mac with your Apple ID.
Are you able to say what happens when you do try to sign in?
I confirm My Apple ID works in the App Store on my new Mac.
But iMovie version 9 can work in Yosemite?
In that old Mac there was a firewire port (it isn't in my new Mac). So I can't connect my camera. It does exsist an adapter?
Yes iMovie version 9 ( and also ver 8 , I believe) should work with Yosemite.
The link for updating to ver 8.0.6 will only work on version 8.
Likewise the update to ver 9.0.9 will only work on ver 9.
Therefore you cannot update to ver 9.0.9 from any version of 8 from the above links.
What model camcorder do you want to connect to your new Mac.
You mention FireWire so I assume your camcorder records to tape, is that correct?
If your camcorder records to tape cassettes then you have to use the FireWire cable with an additional 2 adaptors for your new Mac.
The 2 adaptors cost about 80 £,$ Euro and may not work for you.
Capturing tape to new Macs with new OS has been difficult for some on here.
Best solution would be to capture the tape on the older Mac and transfer the files over to your new Mac via an external drive.
You are entering your Apple ID into your old Mac exactly the same as your new Mac?
Both Apple ID and the password?
And if the version from the DVD disc is version 9 then you can update it to version 9.0.9 from this link

When you say "iMovie last version doesn't work" what version would that be?
The detail could be important.
iMovie 10.3.1
thanks
Have you ever had any iteration of iMovie 10 i.e. version 10.x.y ?
Also have you had any version of iMovie that has worked on your Mac in the past, if so what version?
I found the original DVD and I utilized this one to install iMovie successfully.
I can't use your suggestion because I can't login with my ID apple in that computer... I don't know why...
thanks
the message said wrong password. but I sure about it....
