My Apple Watch paused an update. It says it will resume when the watch is on the charger and charged at least 50% and in close proximity to the iPhone but it never resumes even when on the charger fully charged

I had the same issue. I found what worked for me is to go Into the watch app on your iphone, click on general, Scroll down to storage, in the storage menu look for “WatchOS” it should be located towards the top of the menu, select delete. Close out of your watch app. Open the watch app back up and try to update again. The update restarted without any issue. I hope this helps

Try to update from the watch itself.
Restart the watch.
Place the watch on the charger.
Make sure that your watch is connected to wifi.
On your watch, open the Settings app.
Tap General > Software Update.
Tap Install if a software update is available, then follow the onscreen instructions.

Thank you for posting in Apple SUpport Communities! From our understanding, after being paused the update on your Apple Watch will not resume, is that right? Has your Apple Watch been restarted since noticing this? You should also restart the paired iPhone.
Once restarted, you can attempt to resume the update again.

It didn’t work. My Apple Watch is fully charged and my iPhone is charged too. I already restarted both devices twice and it continues saying that the update will resume when my watch is at least 50%
