Have the Owner Get to You:

Get the Serial Number, and the put a post on CraigsList. Provide a photo with the serial number, and post that as the image. Doing so, the Serial Number would not show up upon search. Obtaining the Serial Number: Find the Serial Number of your AirPods - Apple Support

Check them for contact information, or post notices around where you found them, or take them to the local police, or if applicable, the Lost & Found department of the facility where you found them.
