If the issue is isolated to your Mac, we recommend that you check if the issue persists when signed in on a different user account.

If you are experiencing the issue when signed in on a different user account, we recommend that you check if the issue persists while on safe mode.

How to use safe mode on your Mac


If the issue doesn’t persist on safe mode, we recommend that you use the "contact Apple Support" link on the last step of that article.

Are you getting any error messages on your Mac?

Are you getting any icons in the article below?

Check if a printer is working or has a problem on Mac


If you are able to initiate the print on your Mac without any error messages or code, we recommend that you reach out to the manufacturer of your printer.

thanks for your reply. No error messages - the printer sounds as if it’s printing the info, just the sheets come out blank.

since I wrote the above, I have tested on a friends MacBook running Mojave and all fine, so obviously an issue with Monterey. I now just have to decide if I want to spend time going back to an earlier OS, or hold out for an update …
