Iphone 13 Barcode Scanner

I recently upgraded to an iphone 13 from an iphone 7. I work a part time retail job for which the corporation supports an app for managing inventory, etc. The app supports the ability for scanning a barcode which in turn displays relevant information about the supply. I had no problem whatsoever scanning those barcodes with my iPhone 7. However, my iphone 13 will not scan those same barcodes. I hover the scanner over the barcodes and receive no response. Has anyone else experienced similar?
