I just got an AirTag thinking it was the perfect thing to help find our car when it's out in big parking lot. But I get this screen until I'm right on top of the car. It is a brand new AirTag so it shouldn't need to be reset. Is this just not usable for this application?

@melissa_m77 I have done these steps but I get the error shown in the first post when I press Find button. This article didn't tell me anything new. What do I do when I get the attached error from the original post? Why do I get that error?
I did the reset. It still does the same thing. I will reach out to Apple Support.
