Cracked back glass of iPhone 12 Pro Max and cost $99 to repair with AppleCare+

I looked up online and it says with iPhone 12 and 13 models, it only costs $29 to repair the front and back glass damage with AppleCare+. Apparently that's not the case at my Apple store. I was told because I purchased the phone in 2020 and the new terms and updates to the AppleCare+ came out in 2021, they are not extended to my products.

This is INSANE... I'm literally punished because I purchased my phone earlier than others??

The guy told me it's either $99 or I take the phone back... very very upsetting experience. Such a rip-off...

It's in the terms. They currently have 8 separate time periods depending on purchase date. You bought the plan with the terms in place when you got it. You're not being punished as you're getting exactly what you paid for. Newer buyers are being rewarded with newer terms.
