Apple care on my stolen mac

Is my apple care plus tied to only the mac I purchased even after it was stolen? Or can I have it removed and placed on my replacement MacBook?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 12.2

You can't transfer it to another Mac but you can cancel it and get a new plan for the new Mac. See: Cancel or change the payment method for your AppleCare plan - Apple Support
