Safari not recognising mailto: and sms:

Hi folks.

I have a simple site that has a link that did work with Safari but has stopped doing so.

It does work with other browsers but just not Safari on an iPhone. I've tried a few.

As the heading says it's just Safari that has stopped recognising mailto: and sms:

The mailto: was recognised by Safari for approximately a year without any issue.

Now both mailto: and sms: won't action.

Has anyone had this issue and more importantly, have a solution?

This is happening on a number of iPhones using Safari.

and

There is some who use 2 forward strokes at the start of the telephone numbers, like sms://+12234567

Gave it a try. Exact same behavour as my code.

Hi again.

Had a look at your link. If I'm correct that only works on either Safari on a Mac or PC, but not an iPhone.

I'll be searching to find developer under OS 15.3.1
