Your phone will never have more storage than it did when you bought it. You can “rent” iCloud storage on Apple’s servers, but that is for backups and syncing data to other devices and will not add storage to your phone, as explained in the Related Article at the top of this page that you were reading before you posted.

You cannot add storage to your phone. It will always have the same amount of storage it came with. You can buy space in iCloud, Apple's synching service.
