How can I watch purchased downloaded content on an Apple TV offline (i.e. no wifi)? I would like to bet able to watch on a 12v tv in an rv. Thx
The Apple TV box is indeed a streaming-only device and therefore requires an internet connection.
I do not believe the AppleTV box is capable of storing downloaded content/movies. Its function is as an internet connected content streaming box. (If this has changed recently I’m not aware of it but I don’t think it has).
If your content was purchased through TV Channels within Apple TV, you can download for offline viewing with the Apple TV app on iPhone or iPad. For content purchased through its own app, ex. Netflix, they may also allow downloading for viewing onto its own app on iPhone, iPad. Then Airplay/Screen mirror to the TV.
