Running First Aid for WD Elements 2TB

Hey,

So I was having issues mounting my WD Elements 2TB drive a few days ago, so I backed everything up on another drive (luckily).

Been trying to run the First Aid to search for errors/repairs, but it's been stuck on "Checking multi-linked files." for around 24 hrs now. I started the First Aid almost 2 days ago and have just been letting it run since - hoping that it'll eventually finish. So it's been almost 2 days of First Aid running in the background of my Macbook. Is it normal for it to run this long? Should I just force-close and run it again?

It's also my first time running this - not sure if that's a factor.

Disk utility also doesn't seem to be using much, if any, CPU. So is it pretty much not doing anything or even running effectively?

I'll attach some screenshots below with more details.

DiskUtility first Aid on Time machine...hmmm

Drives that fail to mount, dismount themselves— is one early sign of a drive operating in a state of failure.

The resolve would be to replace the drive.
