my iphone 12 pro max has 2 imei numbers. but each imei number is assigned to a different iphone. what does that mean?

Yes, it supposed to have two IMEI numbers.
What do you mean it is assigned to a different phone? Where are you seeing that information?
So when i check about the device lock status, the first imei shows me 12 pro max silver 128 gb and when i check the 2nd imei, it shows me 12 pro max pacific blue 256gb
But where are inputting the IMEI numbers? An online “IMEI check” site?
tmobile app. I paid off the phone and i was looking if it is unlocked and i just saw that i had 2 imei numbers. Checked them both and it showed me 2 different iphones
As it shows it is not eligible for unlocking, you will need to abide by the rules set by T-Mobile.
I posted a photo where it shows the second iphone that is not mine. But its imei is registred as a 2nd imei on my iphone
Assuming you have only one SIM activated with T-Mobile, that would seem the only IMEI that would matter. As to why the T-Mobile site is inaccurate, I do not know.
