I cannot consistently add a photo preferably a screenshot to a reminder

add photo to a reminder: one is to take a screenshot press share button add to a reminder the other is to take a screenshot save it to my photo library first then create a reminder and add the photo from the library either way not working out properly for me sometimes the reminder shows the photo large at the top of the reminder but most of the time it shows up as a very small thumbnail at the bottom of the reminder that I cannot click on and open
