Why is new Shared album is not updating on my iPhone

Updates to a new shared album are updating on my MacBook Pro and iPad but not my iPhone 12 Pro Max

Try "forcing" an update. Add a photo (any photo) to the shared album on your phone. That has typically jumpstarted the sync for me.
