Error code -50 when converting iTunes purchase to MP3

Hello all.

First time poster on this community, so do forgive me if this has already been answered but I can't seem to find an answer to it (well, a recent one anyway). It's to do with converting an HLS media file format (from an iTunes Store purchase) to an MP3 using the File > Convert option in Apple Music - I keep getting an Error Code of -50 but not sure as to why. I'm not using an external drive of any sort.

Anyone able to help?

Ladder,

There is no such thing as "an HLS media file format from an iTunes Store purchase." The HLS files only come from an Apple Music subscription. They are protected and cannot be converted.

If you did actually purchase that same track from the iTunes Store, remove the HLS version from your l library, and re-download the non-protected purchased track:

Redownload music - Apple Support

It will be able to be converted to MP3.
