My app store is still using an old apple id even though i have a new one. i sign out and sign back in but when it wants me to sign into itunes it still using the other apple id

I changed my Apple ID a while ago. But for some reason I can’t download or update any apps in the AppStore, because it’s still somehow using the old ID, even though I have a new one. I tried signing out and signing back in, and changing the password, but it still wants to use the old Apple ID when I try to sign into iTunes. It asks to unlock the old even though I want it gone from my iPad. How can I fix this?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. You have changed your Apple ID but are still asked for the old one when you try to update apps. Right?

You've taken some great steps so far. Your apps will be linked to the Apple ID that was originally used to purchase or download them. It sounds like you have some apps on your iPad that were downloaded using the old Apple ID. So, when they try to update, you'll be asked to provide that login information. To prevent this, delete those apps then download them again with your new Apple ID. If you're not sure which apps were installed with your new Apple ID, you can find those using the guidance in See your purchase history for the App Store, iTunes Store, and more.
