The option is not mentioned at the 3 dots
After clicking the three dots, look for "Edit". Click on that and you will be able to delete, rearrange, and rename the playlist. If you can't see this option on your Mac, do this on your iPhone or iPad.

On the Mac, open the playlist and click its name at the top. It will highlight and then you can change it.
(Unlike older versions, there is not a "rename" in the contextual menu.)

An error was made during an update. Tried it exactly like that. A blue tint appears over the letters, then you can change it, but after the return key the change is not saved.
It is not possible to rename a playlist.
