I have music that I own, from CDs, on an older Mac. I bought a new iMac. Is there any other way to listen to music that is on an external drive without paying an ongoing fee to iTunes match?

The general procedure for an external drive is to hold down the option key when starting Music (or iTunes)( on your Mac and then browse for the library.
