Request for a prorated refund for annual subscription
I have an annual subscription to Disney+ that was auto-renewed on December 7th, 2021. Today I received and attempted to activate a 6-months free subscription to Disney+ through Verizon. The instructions I received from both Verizon and Disney+ were to contact Apple directly to request a pro-rated refund for the remaining amount due on my annual subscription (which basically calculates out to $52.50 being requested back). The customer service line agent who took my call was able to deactivate my auto renewal per my request, but was unable to process the refund because "the charge was too old". She directed me to request the refund through "reportaproblem.apple.com". I went to that site, and the options available only allow for "requesting a refund" for purchases made within the last 3 months. The Disney+ support team said this wouldn't be a problem for Apple, but apparently it is since I have found NO way to even request a partial / pro-rated refund for my annual charge.
Please advise on how to pursue this further.
