Generic USB Webcam not recognized by FaceTime.
on Mac Mini late 2015. Although it works fine on Skype app.
It seems to me, that FaceTime App not working properly.

Not sure if this will help, but try quitting FaceTime and other App's that use the camera and see if Skype can access the camera. also see > Use an external camera with Mac - Apple Support
had the same issue once, had 2 webcams connected one noname and logitech
photobooth would work with both
but facetime would only see the logitech
the nonname was pretty poor image quality so I guess viewed that facetime had a quality requirements or something
I understamd. but this is bullshit! I am not going to buy a LogiTech, when the generic works fine on Skype.
The **** with FaceTime I'll just keep using Skype.
