I bought a new iPhone from your store in Grand Central, Manhattan NYC, I believe back in Sep 2021. It turned out to be a refurbished device and not a new device as I paid for it.

serial number: F2LFV5Y40D53

iPhone 12 Pro Max, iOS 15

What makes you think that? A serial number starting with an F2 means that it was assembled at a Foxconn factory.

If the model number starts with an F, that's a retail refurbished device. If it starts with an M, then it was sold new.
