To close laptop without sleeping
How can I close my MacBook Pro laptop with out putting it to sleep? I'm using external monitor that I wish to remain on when laptop is closed. My "old" MacBook would do this (and my PC's)

can close the built-in display after you connect your external
display. You might have to press a key or click your mouse to wake the
external display."
