Hi, 2 years ago when I lost my iphone 6s, I purchased a new iphone and turn on Find my iphone on the lost mode for the lost iphone .
At that time , i need to key in 4 digits passcode to lock the lost iphone.
Recently when I found the lost iphone, it asked for 6 digits passcode to unlock .
How to unlock ? Because i know only 4 digits passcode that i set 2 years ago.

reset the iphone will erase all the data .
iPhone does not change passcodes on its own. So, unfortunately, if you cannot remember it, you need to erase your iPhone.

i go to my Find my iphone & remove that iphone from list. But the iphone is still lock.

Unfortunately, no.
I just remember my passcode . how to get back into “enter the passcode” screen again?
Because now the iphone is unavailable or disabled, connect to iTunes.
Is the data still stored in the phone ?
Iphone passcode 4 to 6 digits.
