Which Mac desktop is being backed-up

I've just invested in a new iMac 24" but previously used a MacBook Pro. When I look at my iCloud back-up, my desktop work folders seem to be from the MBP and not the new iMac, though its desktop work folder shows the iCloud icon. Can someone help please as I'm really struggling with this? Know it must be something ridiculously obvious.

Thanks.

iMac 24″, macOS 12.1

Check that desktop and documents is enabled on your new Mac: System preferences > Apple ID > iCloud Drive options
