Password reset wait for 24 hours

I did the change the exact way the phone asked but I was unable to change my password as I can’t remember the existing password. I tried all methods but then it said to wait for 24 hours and they’ll send a notification to my trusted mobile number. I know the Apple ID and the passcode but it’s simple didn’t allow me to change the password. I wanted to change as I can’t remember it. I’m trying to transfer data from my iPhone 8 to 13. Will I be able to change it after 24 hours and transfer the data. Iam eagerly waiting to use my new iPhone 13. The region I live doesn’t have apples support app.

Since you already started the reset process, I think you will have to wait the 24 hours.

If you forgot the Apple ID (iCloud) password, enter the Apple (iCloud) ID, and click Forgot Password. See if you can get a Rescue or Notification email option if necessary. Link to contact Apple Support at the end of the 2nd article.
