"Your email address cannot be removed go to iMessage and FaceTime settings."

Hi there. So if I head to the setting of my iPhone to the following section ‘Name, Phone Numbers, Email,’ I see a section of ‘contactable at.’ There’s an email that has been added here and when I click edit to try and remove it, no delete button appears. I then click the circled i button, a message appears on the screen:

‘your email address cannot be removed

go to iMessage and FaceTime settings. ‘

And this isn’t even my Apple ID. I can’t figure out how to remove this email.

Greetings AndromedA-1951,

We see you've noticed an email address that you don't recognize that you're unable to remove, right? Let's see if the following information may be helpful with managing it.

Based on what you described, this sounds like the email address may be an Alternate Apple ID or Email alias for your Apple ID and/or iCloud. Check out the following resource to see if this helps with locating the email address, as well as removing it, if possible.

Add and manage email aliases for iCloud Mail on iCloud.com

If you're unable to locate the email address with those steps, let's check what is showing via your Apple ID account page to see if it can be edited. For assistance with this, review the next resource:

About your Apple ID email addresses

If you still can't determine where the email is pulling from or manage it, Contact Apple Support to look into this with you in detail.

Cheers!
