So I was wondering... my next iphone will be a 12 pro max and I have always gone for space grey to be on the "safe" side - am I right with this thinking. I'm looking at the blue or the gold too but the question is, would the resale value be better on the blue knowing it was pretty different for Apple at the time? or stick to boring old space grey again?
There is no "best" color. There will be just as many buyers who would want your phone as apposed to others who don't. The only way any color could be best for resale is if there were a limited number of one or two particular colors made. That's not the case. There are pretty much the same number available for each color.
Are you planning to sell the iPhone outright rather than trading it in when you upgrade again one day?
If you trade it in, the color will make no difference.
If you plan to sell it on your own, I have no idea what color would be the most popular and I doubt anyone here would know either.
I would suggest that you get the color you want. iPhones and Apple stuff in general have pretty good resale, I've never had a hard time selling any Apple device. Often times a protective case is put on the phone anyways and you can barely even see what the color of the phone is.
