Zip file disappeared after Airdrop to iPhone 5

If the zip file has disappeared into Other System data you may have to backup, reset the phone to factory and hopefully restoring backup will lose it.

iphones store data in app space not in native folders. Without an app in place to receive it, it probably got lost in Other.

All iOS apps have a " files " app . Update to 15.3.1 , if you can't , you need to invest in a new iPhone . Also , if the files / storage are synced in iCloud , the first iPhone can't serve as a storage compartment … that is if I'm understanding this correctly .

10.3.4 may be as far as you can go on an iPhone 5 . I have iPhone 7 , even though it's updated to 15.3.1 and my iPad & desktop are newer , I'm looking for deals on an iPhone

maybe 9 or 10 . Actually , I use my iPad & desktop most often , so I'm just waiting on the newer iPhone until I can't update it anymore . i.e. : It's like when my desktop became too old to update from " Snow Leopard " to the next version . So I bought a MacMini (2018) .

Find the Apple Files in App Store and see if it will install.

This is what File Manager would see and in there look for your zip file. It probably never made it.

You will also need a zip file opener app that runs on iOS10

Yes, you should have a folder to store the documents.

Only one way to find out.

If you can get a file manager installed look for On My Phone.

If the Other is a couple of GB it may be genuine other Other.
