I do not know why this is marked solved. I have the same problem with a few strange twists.

I am using multiple accounts at gmail and three at att (Yahoo site). All accounts are imap.

Only one of the three att accounts has the junk mail greyed out. The other two work fine.

Note that this greyed out folder only appears on the iPad and iPhone when trying to move to the junk folder using the folder icon panel. It is not greyed out on the Mailboxes screen and I can view the contents there.

To add to the confusion I can move the email to this junk folder using the reply icon (arrow up, then sweep left) panel.

This issue does not exist on the iMac. The Junk folder there looks and behaves as expected.

Hi there jerry-63,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand you're unable to move mail to Junk. We'll be happy to help.

Are you using more than one email account with Mail? Do you use Mail on more than one device? If you have multiple accounts configured, are you able to move mail to a Junk folder related to one of your other accounts?

Best regards.
