Hi Rshepard, I suggest try the basics:

Reboot the AppleTV and TV
In Settings>Video and Audio, use the "check HDMI connection" function.
Make sure both the AppleTV and TV are running the latest software.

If this doesn't remedy the issue, I suggest trying the following:

Reseat the HDMI cable on both connection sides
Try a new HDMI cable
Try a different HDMI port on your TV
Review the HDMI settings on your TV
