Sounds like you want to turn on automatic login.
Go to System Preferences > Accounts > Login Options > Automatic Login

This can Only be used if FileVault is Turned OFF and If there is Only ONE USER Account on this computer.
Both condition are required

I am a Newbie as far a Apple is concerned. I need to know where I can find File vault? I am the only user of this computer and I am the only one named as a user.
When I go to Login and follow the directions I received I can not find a Auto Login area to check off or change to yes.???
The other problem I have is the computer will not stay up for more than a short time, 5 mins or so before going tø a blank screen ????
FileFault is located in System Preferences and Security & Privacy >> " FileVault "
