Problem installing Garageband Jam Pack 1

I do see that the Garage Jam Pack 1 is listed in the 'show all' window, and the loops seem to be there. There is also a receipt listed in the Installed Software of the Software Update utility (although it does not list a version number). However, it will not update to version 1.0.1 using the Software Update utility, or even if I manually use the package file for the update. When I try to update manually, the program that checks your computer indicates that "GarageBand Jam Pack Update can't be installed on this computer. This update requires GarageBand Jam Pack to be installed." Seems like a bug to me...

There are loops being installed when I install the Jam Packs (I can see each set in GarageBand), but I still get a strange message for each. I just installed the 2nd Pack, and see the same "something happened" message. There appears to be something crashing in PackageBuddy:

So I think there is a bug somewhere in the installer(s) of the Jam Packs.

I have now gone ahead and installed the Jam Packs up to set # 4. All of these installations give me the "Something happened" warning, but only on the first disk of the installation disks (some sets have 1 disk, and others have 2). Jam Pack 4 also has an update to version 1.0.1, but my Software Update did not recognize that I needed it. Downloading the update manually and applying it worked for this set, as opposed to set #1 which would not.

So I'm still thinking that there is some issue with 10.6 that is preventing a 'clean' install of the Jam Packs. Does anyone else see this with a computer other than a MacBook Pro?

I can see extra loops installed by using the browser in GarageBand (by selecting the loops for each Jam Pack), but I don't know how to see the instruments that they install. I've been adding the Jam Packs as they came out, so some are very old.

Yes, I can see the instruments that were installed for each of the Jam Packs.

But it is still troublesome that I was not able to update the Jam Pack 1, and that the 10.6 Software Update doesn't realize that I need to update Jam Packs 1 or 4.

I just installed the Voices Jam Pack. It updated to version 1.0.1 using Software Update.

So I guess I'll try without updating Jam Pack 1, since all else appears to be working.
