iTunes refund denied

My 11 year old son took advantage of me being out of the country and bought 17 times gems for a soccer game. $45 dollars each! As soon as I noticed I requested a refund for the transactions using the process. My reason was because he did that purchase without proper permission. They denied the request for 16 and refunded it once. I re issued the request explaining the situation but iTunes denied it again and now I have no way to re request a refund. Can someone help me understanding what can be done? I can’t pay 700 usd for gems in a soccer game! Please help

Hi, Acalderonf15.

Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities. We were sorry to learn about your refund woes, and we would like to address your request.

It's doubtful that anyone in the Apple Support Communities will be able to speculate why the refund was denied, but you may find some answers by speaking to an Apple billing specialist directly. Try reaching out to them here:

I did speak to your billing department...nice folks, but they can not do anything or even tell me why it was denied. Told me to take it to my bank to dispute it, but also said your apple account will be frozen for the month while your bank dispute these charges. LOL. Such a shame, Apple was an amazing customer service company at one time.

Same thing happened to me, except I had all purchases password protected. I put in $25 in the account for my daughter and then somehow it open the account up to purchases in the app. Daughter is autistic and just kept hitting buy - same products too. I was on my computer and PayPal alerted me of these repeated charges. I thought my account was hacked and went on Apple and reported it immediately. Then went to my daughter who admitted hitting the buy button and took the iPad. Days later and several calls - no refund. No reason why. I explained I have all purchases password protected on my account and they said it was out of their hands because the man behind the "refund denied" curtain said no twice and they do not have to explain to me or their own billing department why they made that decision.

I still need help on this matter since I refuse to let go of it. I talked to a specialist and it didn’t work. They couldn’t give me any response as to why it was denied.

they suggest for me to go to Goldman Sachs but my request was denied too and they backed down the refund. As mentioned, my son purchased close to 700 usd (in multiple transactions) in iTunes in a game taking advantage that I was traveling and didn’t notice. Apple was supposed to support refunds in this. You even have the option to say that’s what happened but without any reasoning it was denied. My son has not touched the game ever since. I need to know what to do. What other escalations points can I have that I can explain the situations.. please advise

Thank you for the suggestion. However, I had parental controls on and always do. Somehow when she was in the app it was not working and she keep purchasing the same packages $28 and $20 each over and over. She doesn't know my password, because she used other apple devices after this happened and she didn't purchase anything. And she would have if she knew the password! It seemed to me at the time like a glitch. And all I ask is why they made this decision. I have purchased so much on iTunes over the years and I at least deserve an answer. Very frustrating.
