No Escape key in the modifier list

I'd like to remap the escape key but I can't find it in the Modifier menu. I have the latest macbook pro with no touch bar.

missing escape key on touch bar I'm using a MacBook Pro 13". Normally there is an escape key on the left of the touch bar at all times except when an app's functions cover it (only the type that have arrows). Recently the escape button has disappeared completely even for apps that I previously used it for a lot (e.g. minimising a video on chrome). The only ways I can find to even have an escape key are inconvenient for me. 1 replace capslock or 2 constantly have the touch bar expanded and not have any app-based features. If anyone knows what happened to it (e.g. I accidentally changed a setting or apple did an update that removes it) and how to get it back to normal it would be much appreciated if they could enlighten me on this knowledge.

Escape key disappeared from Touch Bar hi 👋 I got my self a new MacBook Pro last month. At the beginning whenever I pressed the "fn" key I had on the TouchBar "esc" key and all the F's 1-12th. but, now, when ever I press the "fn" key I have only the F's keys without the esc key. I don't know what I did that made the "esc" key disappeared from the Touch Bar but I hope that someone knows how to make it appear again. thank you 😊 🙏 ☺️

Escape key disappeared from my Touch Bar I recently download the new OS to my computer and now the escape button has been removed from my Touch Bar. I have tried going in through system preferences and adding it back but it isn't even an option. I have read the apple support page about the Touch Bar. I don't want to assign another key as my escape button. Does anyone know how to get it back?

The ESC key is not a modifier key.

Probably not as Apple's Force Quit keyboard shortcut uses ESC, and it is also used to dismiss the onscreen ScreenShot panel (e.g. shift+cmd+5).

ah alright, so is there any other way I can remap esc without using 3rd party tools
