I have turned the silent mode off but the phone remains is silence mode. I cannot receive calls, I can receive texts. How do I remove the silent mode after I have move the switch to off and it remains on?

I have turned the silent mode off , but it is still operating on the phone. The little moon Ivón is in the upper right hand corner and I can’t receive calls. I can receive texts.

iPhone SE, iOS 12

That means you have Do Not Disturb on. See https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204321
