Apple News Not Syncing Between iPhone and MacBook Air

Apple news on my MacBook Air (M1, 2020, Big Sur, 11.6.2) isn't in sync with the news (following, saved articles, history) on my iPhone 12. I've disabled the news sync in the cloud and restarted both devices but the problem persists. Any advice?

Hi there Rickyrose,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities!

If you're not seeing your Apple News content sync between devices, check the details below:

"Get the news on all your devices

When you sign in with the same Apple ID on each of your devices and turn on News in iCloud preferences or settings, your Apple News reading experience is seamless, whether you’re at home or on the go. For example, the channels and topics you follow, the stories you save, and your reading history are the same on all devices.

Note: Apple News isn’t available in all countries or regions. See the Apple Support article Availability of Apple Media Services.

Turn on News in iCloud preferences on your Mac

  1. Choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, click Apple ID, then select iCloud in the sidebar.
    • Make sure you’re signed in with the same Apple ID on all your devices.

2. Select News in the list of apps, if it isn’t already selected.

Turn on News in iCloud settings on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud (or Settings > iCloud).
    • Make sure you’re signed in with the same Apple ID on all your devices.

2. Turn on News in the list of apps, if it isn’t already on."

This information is available in Get the news on all your devices.

We hope this helps.
