What to do if you got water in your Mac Pro

Accidentally a water spill in my bag and my Mac Pro book was there… I’ve dried it… try to start it right away… I read in the web not to do that… I have it hanging upside down… how long to try to turn it on… I was traveling so it was on sleep mode…
