Safari on an i-Pad Air 2
When I go into Safari I have a vertically split screen, with, in effect two Safari screens side by side. How do I restore a single Safari screen?

Presumably you have iPadOS15 (or earlier iPadOS14) installed on your iPad. You need to explore multitasking.
For iPadOS15, key to accessing and controlling multi-tasking is the small “three-dot” button that is found at the top-centre edge of the screen.
