New or old headphones no longer work to increase or lower volume, or to stop playing on my iPhone 6 SE. Thank you in advance.

Sadhaika,

Before you go back to the store, see if updating your iPhone helps. The latest iOS version is 15.3.1: Get the latest software updates from Apple. This will ensure your iPhone has the latest bug fixes and security enhancements. If you notice this behavior with a specific app, make sure it's up to date as well.

Take care.

Hi Sadhaika,

Thanks for connecting with us here in Apple Support Communities. You've mentioned that you can't use your headphones properly with your iPhone. Since this happens with different headphones. You'll definitely want to inspect your iPhone for any debris or possible loose connections in the headphone port. Check out the link below.

If your headphones don't work with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Kind regards.
