Greetings RHoskies,
Restarting your iPhone is a great step to help resolve issues with CarPlay. In addition to restarting, there are other steps which are listed below that can help resolve CarPlay related issues. For reference, you can also view those steps in the article linked below.
If you need help with CarPlay
- Check your connection: If you have a wired connection, try connecting again with a different USB cable or port if available. If you're connected wirelessly via Bluetooth, confirm Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled in Settings > Wi-Fi and Settings > Bluetooth.
- If CarPlay doesn't activate automatically, locate the CarPlay logo on the infotainment systems display.
- Restart your iPhone.
- Confirm Siri is enabled.
- If your iPhone isn't detected, make sure CarPlay isn't restricted in Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions, tap Allowed Apps and confirm CarPlay is enabled.
- Go in to Settings > General > CarPlay, tap your Car, followed by Forget This Car.
- Set up CarPlay again via the steps in Use CarPlay with your iPhone.
- Make sure that your CarPlay stereo is running the latest firmware. You may have to contact your vehicles manufacturer for updates or the vehicles manual on how to update.
If you continue to have issues after those steps, you'll want to proceed with contacting Apple. You can find their contact details via the Get Support website.
Take care!
