What I'm attempting to do now is to stream a live feed from my MacBook to the TV. So, for example, if I'm viewing instructional content or a CNN news feed on the MacBook I would like to view it on the TV.
Have you tried the Twonky MediaServer's "Media Feeds" feature yet?
FWIW. I do not have a DLNA-capable TV. Instead I have a 1st Gen 2001 HD Sony XBR set. For a DLNA receiver, I use an XBox 360 connected by component cables (pre-HDMI era). I use a MacMini dedicated as the Media Server which gets its video files from an external hard drive (NewerTech miniStack) connected to an 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station. The connections are primarily Giga-bit Ethernet except for the XBox 360 which is using a 802.11n connection to the Extreme.
In addition to streaming 720p HD video from the external drive, I also stream YouTube feeds via the Twonky Server.
