PLEASE CHANGE SO IT DOESN'T DOWNLOAD AS A ZIP FILE!!!
Has anyone found a workaround to iCloud downloading as zip files on a Windows PC?

Hi tbhask,
Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities. We noticed that you recently reviewed Download iCloud photos and videos. As mentioned in that article, files downloaded from iCloud may be zip files. However, those files can be unzipped using the guidance from Microsoft here - Zip and unzip files.
1.Locate the zipped folder that you want to unzip (extract) files or folders from.
2.Do one of the following:
•To unzip a single file or folder, open the zipped folder, then drag the file or folder from the zipped folder to a new location.
•To unzip all the contents of the zipped folder, press and hold (or right-click) the folder, select Extract All, and then follow the instructions.
You're also welcome to leave feedback for Apple regarding how files are downloaded from iCloud - Product Feedback - Apple.
Take care.
I know how to unzip files. I'm asking Apple to change their settings so that it allows me to download a few individual photos NOT zipped. This is very annoying if you are just trying to grab a couple photos quickly. It adds unnecessary steps.
Thank you, yes, I did leave feedback there. I was hoping there was some work around to the issue. It seems like there is not.
Thanks
