Time Machine Use
when you use Time Machine, does it backup the partitioned drive, for example, if I have created one using VMWARE?

Open the Time Machine pane of System Preferences, click on Options, and check the exclusion list. If a volume can't be removed, it's in a format that Time Machine can't back up.
