When security settings are configured to allow contacts to send me files my contacts can't see my iphone & I have always switch to allow everyone. What I'm missing?
And you are sure these contacts are on your device? Try turning off AirDrop and restarting your iPhone, then turn AirDrop back on after the iPhone has restarted.
Do you have the iPhone unlocked when they look for your device to AirDrop?

If you look at the bottom there are some restrictions when it comes to Contacts Only setting. You have not indicated what version of iPhone or iOS you have, so that may have something to do with it.

they are in my Contacts app with their appleId emails. Next time i'lll try turnoff|restart
