I have a new Mac and want to use it to update my phone. I need to authorize my iPhone 3G on it and it says that I can not do that because it is already authorized to too many computers. Two of those computers do not turn on any more. Is there any other way to de-authorize my phone so that I can use it with my new computer?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.3)

It's not phones that are authorized, it's computers. An iTunes account can only be authorized on 5 computers. You should be able to log into your iTunes account on your computer and deauthorize all your computers if you've reached your limit of 5. Then just reauthorize the computers you want.

Synching non-purchaed music via iTunes is a one way process, meaning you synch from your computer to iPhone, not the other way round.

There's not a way to transfer nonpurchased songs back to your computer natively. Not sure there's an app for that. You might want to search the app store or Google.

Sorry I don't know enough to help you further.

Good luck.
